Today I finished off the oldhammer all metal Eldar Wraithlord. The most notable parts I did was to paint the base and to freehand a bunch of eldar symbols. On the leg and the front of the head is the infinity circuit symbol, appropriate because of course Wraithlords are piloted by dead souls from there. In the middle of the head is a symbol that I made up loosely based on the ancient Egyption Ankh symbol. Another Ankh variant is on this shoulder. The writing on the side of the head is my clumsy recreation of Tolkein’s Elvish, because of course Warhammer 40k’s Eldar are more or less a derivation from Tolkein’s elves. Finally the symbol on its arm is a glyph made by combining J.R.R. Tolkein’s initials.
The colour scheme is for Craftworld Altioc.
These old boys are long out of production so Ebay is the best place to source them.
