Hobby Streak Day 35 – New Shiny Prep – Steel Legion Project
Two orders of shiny new miniatures arrived today. One order was for the plastic Raumjager kit and the other was a bunch of Steel Legion infantry and Imperial Guard characters all in metal from Games Workshop. I ordered all this for my Steel Legion project. See here for details on that.
I will admit I am keen to get on and paint the metal minis ASAP so I started prepping them straight away. What I have here is the ten man Steel Legion squad, Regimental Advisors (astropath, bomberman, fleet officer), Missionary, Primaris Psyker and Engineseer.
I love these sculpts, old though they are. They will make for a characterful command group certainly.
So this is what I did for my streak today. I filed off the flash and mould lines. Then I assembled the few multi-part models: the enginseer, the missionary, the bomber dude and Steel legion sergeant and missle crew. After that I glued them to their bases and added a texture to the bases. That will do.
