After a fairly substantial session the Dire Avengers are done. I gave the bases a second coat and fiddled with all sorts of details. The most notable elements I finished off were the helmet plumage and the free hand designs on both sides of the banner. Considering I did not really like painting these dudes, I just wanted them done and off the table, I am fairly comfortable with how they turned out. Now they can queue up for a batch varnish.
I think I am getting better at doing free hand designs like this.
To get nice sharp fine lines even with a nice sharp brush is challenging, either the paint won’t run or runs too much and then blobs up with the water tension. To help with this I tried a “flow-improver” for the first time. I am still experimenting with the best way to use it but I think it did help a lot to get nice fine lines.
If you want to add flow-aid or flow improver to your arsenal then you can get some here.
